Hikvision to raise hard drive prices from July 1, citing cost surge

Hikvision has notified dealers that it will increase hard drive prices starting July 1, 2025, primarily for the dealer channel. An insider cited a more than 50% increase in component costs from suppliers in the third quarter compared to the second quarter, which the company cannot fully absorb. Morgan Stanley has raised price targets for Seagate and Western Digital, predicting a hard drive shortage lasting until at least 2028.
