Memory costs now exceed processor and display combined, says Nothing CEO

Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing, stated that memory has become the most expensive component in smartphones, accounting for over half of hardware costs, surpassing the processor and display. He noted that the memory shortage is affecting Nothing's mid-range phones, with the cost of memory doubling for the Phone (4a) from production to launch, then doubling again. Since February, new phones have become $100 more expensive, and prices are expected to continue rising next year.
